Leadership

Today I showed leadership by filling in for Jasmines P.A.L's. I was on with Zainab, Alicia and Emma D. At first we didn't know what to do so we decided to do some netball shots. No one showed up for this so we agreed that we would do some skipping. About 40 people came and played with us! A mix between boys and girls. I think we handled some problems really well because some kids were pushing in line and we kindly asked them to go to the back, they agreed to it straight away. Today was one of the most fun P.A.L's duty I've ever done.

Leadership

Last week I showed leadership by filling in for people in radio station this was quite a big step for me because I had never done it before. Shannon was a huge help because she told us what to do. I learnt how to turn the microphone on and off while swapping the music. Things went wrong a few times e.g.. the music wasn't working for us. But in the end it all turned out fine.

Pretty much all kids like sleeping, right? Parents drag us to do errands with them. Parents make going out in public 100 times worse than it is. (Because they embarrass us)

Rates and ratios

My W.A.L.T was use rates and ratios

Example
6 of Joel's are standing the other 11 have fallen over. What is the ratio of the number of dominoes still standing to the number of fallen dominoes?

The answer to this is 6:11 because there was 6 standing and 11 fallen so it practically gives you the answer.

Something I learnt about ratios was that they can be written in 3 different ways eg: 1:2, 1 to 2, and 1/2

My next step is loci.

Reading follow up evidence

This was one of my reading follow ups for this week.

It taught me colloquial language, which is informal or shortened words that you wouldn't use in modern conversations.

I think I am at extended abstract because I can identify several features that subvert colloquial language,can give examples and make an overall statement.

As well as high school subjects you also need to have a medical diploma, good grades, and also a certificate of graduation. If you are applying for a job having these will put you ahead.

Today I used up my whole morning tea, and part of class time for the bake sale. A disposition I used was resilience, this was important becuase the kids took ages to pick and I had to ask them nicely to hurry up other than being snappy. The female leaders and I set up all of the tables at 10:30. In the end we raised $907.10c for our year 8 wellington trip in term 4.

Today I showed leadership on the technology by only talking to the people next to me with a inside voice Also inviting a year 7 boy to sit with us because he had no bus buddy and it was three to a seat. This year I have definitely made good progress of sitting on the bus and my next step would probably be letting anyone sit by me and not saving the seats.

My Discovery

Multistructural:
We think that we have reached multistructural because we can bounce the ball towards the hoop and take two steps effectivly and we can flick the ball up but is not quite accurate yet. Our next step is getting the ball in most times.

The Pleasing Pleasant Pie.

This is my poem it is really random and honestly I didn't know what i was doing so don't judge.


                                                           The Pleasing Pleasant Pie

The boiling mince was like bubbling lava.

Like a fresh juicy guava.
As the cheese melted my stomach pelted.

As the pastry puffed I was already stuffed.

When i had finished my pie my poem began to die.

I did alliteration for my title because I'm weird.

I did rhyme because i don't believe in poems with out rhyming words.

I think i am at relational because i used a few language features and i can describe why in used them.

my goal for term 2

I have a few goals for this term one of them is: To make the basketball team I have chosen this because i think it could help my fitness and improve my Koru games skills for I am doing basketball as well. My second one is :To get less Self checks this is because lately i have been getting a few, dew to the fact that i am sitting near my friends alot now i am going to sit by myself in the breakout hub when appropriate.

I'm in the hospital bed because I need to get nostrils drilled into my nose. The doctors the getting the anaesthetics ready for me. They give me a strong scent oxygen mask and I fall into a deep dark sleep.

I'm just in a strange dream of weird nothing 'well that's how I would describe it' I woke a with a massive jolt  'I guess time flys'

Reflection

I feel that i am being a good house captain because by organizing games even when i get put in the deep end.

Winter sport hasn't been yet but i will trial for football.

I don't think i will get distinction because i have been blogging much.

Today I showed leadership in P.A.L's because I ran a kauri game of dodge ball we had an excellent turn out and I explained the rules with my partners really well, everyone understood the rules and played perfectly. I also joined in as well as doing my job. We made it more fitnessy (if that's a word) by making them do 20 star jumps if they got out. I had Peer mediation and P.A.L's today.

Today I showed leadership in Peer Mediation because I sorted out a problem 2 kids had with a ball. In the end we sorted out that they could play together and they seemed to like that idea. I showed initiative by repeating both of the story to the. Overall my day of Peer Mediation was successful and afterwards the kids came up to us and said thank you. I also had P.A.L's straight after.

This year I have been lucky enough to be house captain of Rata.
 One of my jobs for this role is setting up assembly. This week I have set up assembly twice for the Kakano and Kauri assembly with the other house captains I also sorted out the pozis to hand out with Hayley.

This week I signed up for Peer Mediation.
I decided to do Peer Mediation again because I enjoy helping younger, or same age kids to sort out their problems. This year I am going to show up to all of my times and do it with pride.
